PITMAN, NJ – The American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) has named Sandra (Sandi) Selzer, MSHQ, its new Chief Executive Officer. Sandi is a seasoned health care leader with over 25 years of experience, where she brings a dynamic blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to advancing quality in healthcare.
Sandi’s career is defined by her dedication to innovation and measurable improvement in health care delivery. She spent 15 years at the American Board of Internal Medicine, working closely with specialty associations to advance quality measurement and performance improvement. Her leadership extended to the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers, where she spearheaded the implementation of a city-wide health information exchange—an ambitious project that enhanced care coordination and data-driven decision-making.
Most recently, Sandi led several state chapters of family medicine and internal medicine associations, as well as managed a range of federal, state, and local grant-funded programs aimed at improving healthcare access, equity, and outcomes. Her collaborative approach and technical acumen have made her a trusted partner in driving systemic change.
“I am honored to join AAACN as Chief Executive Officer and to support the vital work of ambulatory care nurses across the country,” said Sandi. “Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a passion for improving healthcare quality, access, and equity—and I look forward to collaborating with our members, partners, and stakeholders to advance innovative, patient-centered care. Together, we will elevate the voice of ambulatory care nurses and drive meaningful change in the healthcare system.”
