Nine Nurses Receive 2013 Jannetti/Marriott Nursing Scholarships

Congratulations to the nine Arizona Banner Health nurses who were recently awarded scholarships to continue their nursing education through the Jannetti/Marriott Nursing Scholarship Program.Scholsrahip Winners

The awards were presented by Anthony J. Jannetti, President and CEO of Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc., and Richard Romane of the Marriott Corporation at a reception held April 15 at the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge. The annual scholarship honors Jannetti, a long-time Banner Health Foundation board member, and his commitment to support the nursing profession.

Eight nurses who are currently enrolled in advanced degrees in nursing programs received $1,500 scholarships.

Alisha Zimmer received the Excellence Award, a $2,500 scholarship offered to a nurse who demonstrates outstanding vision and passion for the nursing profession and wishes to advance his or her education goals.

The scholarship was developed in 1992, with JW Marriott Corporation joining in 2006. To date, more than 148 Banner Health nurses have benefitted from the generosity and commitment of Mr. Jannetti and his friends in the hospitality community.
